Custom Classes: Creativity Breaks Just for You, Scheduled on Your Time
Get five people together and you can have your own workshop!
Any of the art workshops I teach is available as a Customized Creativity Experience for adults. What better way to celebrate a birthday, a holiday, a wedding, a promotion, a new baby, a divorce, a Friday . . .
At Your Location
If the event is at your home or office, you
provide the food, the attendees, the chairs and work surfaces, and I'll
bring all the supplies, the instructional hand-outs and my own helpful self. I need a
minimum of five people - you and four friends - to make it worthwhile. Charges start at $45 per
person, and go up from there, depending on the type of workshop. Only have four people? That's ok - I'll just still need to charge you for five.
If you have eight or fewer people in your group, I may be able to arrange for rental space at Collage (an art store with workspaces and locations on NE Alberta and SE Woodstock) or at Scarlet Star Studios, a private studio located on the edge of SE Portland and Happy Valley. Additional rental costs will apply. If you have more than eight participants, you will need to arrange for an appropriate session space.
The sessions usually last three hours, and I'll need at least half an hour before the session for set-up and half an hour after for packing up. With advance notice, I can schedule sessions on weekdays, weekday evenings, and weekend days. It is also possible to schedule full-day, six-hour sessions, 10 am - 5 pm, with a one-hour lunch break. Some workshops (noted below) are only available as five or six hour sessions. Please note that the earliest start time available for a session is 9:30 am, and the latest end time for a session is 9:30 pm.
My transportation is included within the Portland Metro area. However, for a location more than 15 miles or 30 minutes travel from Portland's city center, a travel surcharge may apply. A 50% deposit is required to secure the session, and will not be refunded if the event is canceled with less than 48 hours notice.
And yes, my classes are designed for adults. I'm focused on giving grown-ups the fun art experience they didn't get in school! However, some classes may be appropriate for Mother-Daughter type events with kids in their tweens or older. Contact me if you have questions.
At My Home Studio, Hearth
Groups of six or fewer can meet at my home studio, Hearth. The studio is located on SE
119th between Powell and Division, with
easy access by car from I-205 or I-84, by bike from a nearby Max
Station or the Springwater Corridor Trail, or by bus from either the
Powell or Division lines. As this is my private home, the exact
address will be given only at registration.
Generally, I require a minimum of five people - you and four friends - to run a custom workshop. However, when workshops are held at my home studio, a slightly reduced rate for a smaller group can be negotiated. Otherwise, all the same guidelines apply as for a class at another location.
