with Bridget Benton: Igniting Your Creative Spark

Individual Services: Helping Spirited People Rekindle Their Creative Fire

I provide support in the care and feeding of your creative fire, whether applying creative skills is a critical part of your job or you're just beginning to explore your creative side.  We can all get blocked, burned out, frustrated and mystified by the workings of our own creative process.

Sometimes we get jealous of what we think of as other people's "creative talent," and it feels as though we never had the ability to be creative in the first place, or like we lost it in childhood.  Maybe we try to create and the voice of the "Internal Critic" starts whispering in our ear and takes all the fun out of it.

As a creative professional, it can feel like we're "creativity fakes" just producing what the market demands  or like creating has become such a routine that it's lost all its personal joy and passion.

The simple truth is that everyone is creative.  Creativity is a spark that all of us possess, and it is a skill that any of us can develop - no matter how we choose to express that creativity.  I have a deep faith in each individual's innate creative ability and will work with you to help you discover your own spark and build your creative skills so that you can meet your goals - whether it's to finally start drawing again or to begin to take yourself more seriously as an artist.

Workshops, aka Creativity Breaks

Sometimes, all you need to jump-start your creativity or begin your exploration is to try something new - to have a fun, positive experience in a supportive place.  Eyes Aflame workshops and classes provide that space.  The emphasis of the facilitation is on trusting your own intuitive creative ability, though  some basic art and crafting skills are incorporated into each workshop.

To get monthly listings of upcoming classes and events - as well as occasional hands-on creativity tips and musings - you can subscribe to The Creativity Break Newsletter by e-mailing me at getinspired@eyesaflame.com and giving me your name and preferred e-mail address.  You can also check out upcoming classes and workshops here.

On-Site Creativity Break Events

Any of the adult (age 18+) art workshops I teach is also available at your home (or even your office!).   What better way to celebrate a birthday, a divorce, a Friday . . .  You provide the food, the attendees, the chairs and work surfaces, and I'll bring the supplies, hand-outs and my own helpful self.  I need a minimum of five people to make it worthwhile.  Charges start at $35 per person, and go up from there, depending on the type of workshop.  On-site events generally include three hours of work time, and I need a 45-minute allowance before and after the three hour class for set-up and clean-up.  For more details, visit the custom class page or e-mail me at getinspired@eyesaflame.com for more information or to schedule an event.

One-on-One Coaching

One-on-one coaching is a powerful tool for change.  However, most of the work I do is group work and I rarely do one-on-one creativity coaching. I am happy to schedule a free 20-minute session to talk more with you about coaching and help both of us determine if it's a good fit.  If it's not, I may be able to recommend another local coach who is a better fit for one-on-one work.  If we do decide to commit to individual coaching, I ask for a minimum of a six-hour commitment @ $50/hour.  This can either be six one-hour talk sessions or three two-hour work and talk sessions where we create together at my home studio, depending on your needs.  To further explore the possibility of one-on-one coaching, call 503-913-4558, or email me at getinspired@eyesaflame.com.
